TREATMENTS ARE WORKING
It is actually better than the treatments are working. In fact, Eric had a recent procedure where his doctor looks inside his bladder with a camera. That exploration revealed that the cancer treatment is not only working but right now the cancer is dead. Eric, who portrays the character Victor Newman on Young and Restless does caution that there are still 3 more treatments to under go to help insure the cancer does not return.
Victorious and miraculous news
This news is the best news that Eric and his family could have received. It looks like Eric will be with us for a long long time and Back Stage Pass News could not be happier for him. Send your congratulations and well wishes to Eric by commenting below in the comment section.

What is Maurice Bernard up to these days?
Anyone who visits Backstage Pass News knows how fond we are of Maurice Benard, so it’s no surprise to us when we receive weekly questions from readers regarding him. The top questions we receive about Maurice are ones asking us if we know his social media’s, if he’s active on them and if he does fan events like meet and greets. The answer to all of those questions is a resounding YES. Maurice is not only on social media but he is also very active on it and extremely engaging with his fans and community. He also takes part in several types of fan events throughout the year including meet and greets. In fact you have several opportunities to meet Maurice Benard in person during “The Milestone Tour” produced by Coastal Entertainment at various different venues across the US.
The biggest thing we love sharing with our readers and his fans is that Maurice also has his own show called State of Mind with Maurice Benard on YouTube where he interviews and talks to many beautiful souls a lot of which you will recognize from the soap world. We highly recommend checking out Maurice Benard’s State of Mind channel at https://www.youtube.com/@MBStateOfMind. He also has a twitter account for State of Mind which is https://twitter.com/mbstateofmind. Maurice initially captured our attention as well as our hearts on the 13th of August 1993 when he made his first appearance as Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital. Not only is Maurice Benard an exceptional two-time Emmy Award winning film and television actor but he’s also a loving and devoted husband and father. Maurice is a wonderful human being who is also a passionate advocate for mental health awareness. This man is like an onion, he has so many layers. You peel one back for it to just reveal another. There are so many ways you can connect with Maurice and stay up to date with what’s going on with him. You can connect with Maurice via his Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/MauriceBenard/ and his Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/mauricebenard/ Maurice is also very active on his personal Twitter account and interacts with fans a lot there there at https://twitter.com/MauriceBenard. Maurice Benard shares himself in so many ways with his fan base and the community at large. He is a dedicated actor who takes pride in his craft which shows in his portrayal of Sonny Corinthos and every other character he’s ever undertaken. And while this is plain to see there was so much about Maurice that we didn’t know until we read his book Nothing General About It, How Love (and Lithium) Saved Me On and Off General Hospital. We’ve listened to the unabridged audiobook when it first came out which Maurice himself narrated. The fact that Maurice narrated his book himself made it all the more meaningful and really drove home every last word. Backstage Pass News doesn’t want to give away any spoilers in case you haven’t read his book, but it’s definitely worth getting a copy of. We truly believe there’s nothing he can’t do. Listen to this beautifully simplistic version of this hit song.Less is absolutely more when it comes to this rendition of Make You Feel My Love
Sometimes, just sometimes the first is not the best. I feel exactly that way when it comes to this rendition of the Garth Brooks hit, "Make You Feel My Love." Garth recorded the song in 1998. Not only did Garth record this song written by Bob Dylan but so did Billy Joel.
A song by any other name
It turns out that this song is known with and without the "TO" The song was covered by a less known more traditional bluesy, country artist Greg Wilson and it is simply beautiful. Just his vocal and a piano really illustrate the simple beauty of the song which paints the feeling and picture of a perfect love. We have it on good authority this song was recorded in a home studio with no amplification, pitch correct or digital recording or editing. This song proves the old adage "less is more." Don't believe us, take a listen for yourself.

Jackie and Luke
Back in General Hospital's hay day, the decade that saw this soap soar into the stratosphere because of out of this world talent, let's look back at Demi Moore's time in Port Charles. Demi portrayed the role of investigative reporter Jackie Templeton. Even though she was only in 38 episodes, she left her mark on the show. Her actual run on the show was January 4, 1982 until April 20th, 1984.
INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER
In today's world, Jackie Templeton came back to Port Charles still an investigative reporter but also as the mother of Finn and Chase and ex-wife of Gregory. The new Jackie was portrayed by Kim Delaney. She left Port Charles while her two sons and Ex-husband have found story lines to share with today's General Hospital viewers.

This is literally the first time that Back Stage Pass News has seen some real genuine concern from Nikki when it comes to Adam. It is obvious that she is thinking about the baby she lost with Jack. It was so nice to see the genuine concern but it no wonder that Adam is confused by her concern. She is normally one of the first people to go after him after something happens in his life.
Adam in confused by Nikki's concern
In addition to Adam being confused by Nikki's concern, he is having trouble thinking past his own pain. He is trying to dive into work so that he can try and avoid the pain. After Adam walks away from Nikki, Nikki calls Victor to let him know that she is concerned about him. Victor goes to find his son. Click here to see today's show. https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/8PZugmZNfVwH__JnA5dupdy_EnpRFfIm/
Victor is very concerned
Who knows how Adam in going to strike out to work past this pain? He is dangerous right now but so is Victoria as she tries to prove, well we are not sure what? We at BSPN don't think she is still working through Ashland trauma. We think she is just normally awful. Nick is wrapped up in Sharon and now that she is going to take over Cameron's company, her and Nick can work together again to make good from from all that evil. It would be nice to see them working together again like they did when they were young.
No matter what happens, we know it will be like a HURRICANE.TUNE IN ALERT: RICKEY MEDLOCKE AND JOHNNY VAN ZANT INTERVIEW WITH CNNINTERVIEW AIRING SATURDAY NIGHT

His family history delivers bad news for this countryIf family history is any indicator, we could be stuck with Donald Trump messing with our democracy for another 15-20 years. His father lived until he was 95 and his mother lived until she was 88 years old. Trump will be 77 on June 14th, 2023. Crooked behavior runs in the family![]() Frederick Christ Trump Sr. was an American real estate developer and businessman. In partnership with his mother, Elizabeth Christ Trump, Fred began a career in home construction and sales. Their real estate development company was incorporated as E. Trump & Son in 1927 (later known as the Trump Organization). It grew to build and manage single-family houses in Queens, barracks and garden apartments for U.S. Navy personnel near major shipyards along the East Coast, and more than 27,000 apartments in New York City. Trump was investigated by a U.S. Senate committee for profiteering in 1954, and again by the State of New York in 1966. Donald became the president of his father's real estate business in 1971, and they were sued by the U.S. Justice Department's Civil Rights Division for violating the Fair Housing Act in 1973; in the case settlement, the Trumps were ordered to take several measures to curb racial discrimination. Like Father Like Son![]() or decades following World War II, Trump concealed his German ancestry (instead claiming Swedish heritage) to avoid associations with Nazism in light of the Holocaust. He also supported Jewish causes. During Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, reports of Fred Trump's arrest at a 1927 Ku Klux Klan parade resurfaced, although there is no direct evidence that he supported the organization. As president, Donald repeatedly and falsely claimed that his father was born in Germany, instead of New York. In 2018, an exposé by The New York Times[c] revealed that Trump and his wife, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, provided over $1 billion (in 2018 currency) to their progeny overall, while effectively evading over $500 million in gift taxes. Trump illicitly contributed several million dollars to Donald between 1987 and 1991, and shortly before his death (while suffering from Alzheimer's disease), transferred the bulk of his apartment buildings to his surviving children; several years later, they sold these for over 16 times their previously declared worth. Gary friends will honor him
This is a viewer alert. Gary Rossington will be honored tonight by some life long friends at the CMT Awards tonight. The show is being aired live from Texas. Check out this BLUEGRASS VERSION OF TRAIN TRAIN
Dolly Parton recorded a bluegrass version of BLACKFOOT'S hit song, Train, Train. Written by Shortly Medlock and recorded by his grandson's band BLACKFOOT, there is a little back story of how this Bluegrass version came about. The story goes like this: Dolly Parton's husband was a fan of Blackfoot Band. He was the one that prompted Dolly to cover this song and so she did.
About BLACKFOOT
Blackfoot is an American Southern rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1969. Though they primarily play with a Southern rock style, they are also known as a hard rock act. The band's classic lineup consisted of guitarist and vocalist Rickey Medlocke, guitarist Charlie Hargrett, bassist Greg T. Walker, and drummer Jackson Spires.
They had a number of successful albums during the 1970s and early 1980s, including Strikes (1979), Tomcattin' (1980) and Marauder (1981). About Dolly Parton
Dolly Rebecca Parton born January 19, 1946, is an American singer-songwriter, actress, philanthropist, and businesswoman, known primarily for her decades-long career in country music. After achieving success as a songwriter for others, Parton made her album debut in 1967 with Hello, I'm Dolly, which led to success during the remainder of the 1960s (both as a solo artist and with a series of duet albums with Porter Wagoner), before her sales and chart peak came during the 1970s and continued into the 1980s. Parton's albums in the 1990s did not sell as well, but she achieved commercial success again in the new millennium and has released albums on various independent labels since 2000, including her own label, Dolly Records.
TIME TO GRIEVE
The news that Gary Rossington, one of the last original members of Lynyrd Skynyrd has earned his wings, the world is mourning his loss. News of his death has spread worldwide while many in media scramble to try and get comments from band members. It always amazes us how everyone runs around trying to get quotes from other music artists that might have shared a stage with the recently deceased. For band mates and family it is "just too soon."
Truth is that everyone needs time to grieve. Gary had been sick a long time and continued to perform when he could. It was obvious he was frail. It was obvious that playing had become a struggle but he was such a warrior, he continued on.
Even when we are aware that death is near, it is still hard to accept when it happens. What the band needs right now is a little time to digest and accept the loss of their dear friend and band mate. I would like to ask all media to leave them alone while they grieve. Gary's wife Dale and his children need love, comfort and support right now. It is at home where his loss will be felt the most. The next place is on the stage by his band mates. Rickey's PR was asked for a comment from Rickey. Here is the response.
That really says it all. Let's all please give them all time to grieve. Back Stage Pass News is sending prayers for healing, comfort and privacy while Gary's closest loved ones move through their grief.
BAND SENDS LOVELY FAREWELL MESSAGE TO NAMESAKE
Marshall Tucker Band sends a beautiful farewell message to the man that band was named after upon his passing. Yes, Marshall Tucker was a real man.
READ BANDS MESSAGE
"We are saddened to hear of the passing of someone very special to our hearts, for very obvious reasons. Our band’s namesake, Mr. Marshall Tucker, passed away peacefully yesterday morning at the age of 99. Though he was never a member of our band, we wouldn’t be here today without his historic name. In the early days when we were rehearsing in an old warehouse in Spartanburg, we found a keychain inscribed with his name. We needed a name asap… and the rest is history! Marshall was blind since birth but amazingly could play the heck out of the piano. He always said his talent was simply God-given. He tuned pianos in South Carolina for decades. We are thankful for Mr. Marshall Tucker and the life he lived! Sending blessings to his wife and family."

Sunday, January 15, 2023, Debi Champion is hosting a benefit for singer songwriter Kimberley Dahme who is battling breast cancer. The benefit show is taking place at The Commodore adjacent to the Holiday Inn Vandy on West End Avenue in Nashville, TN
About Kimberley
Kimberley Dahme was born on April 22 in San Pablo California. She started her musical training at an early age. Kimberley says: "Mom gave me piano lessons and I've been hooked on music ever since. The first song I learned was 'Jesus Loves Me'. I was about 8 when I got to sing in public." Kimberley started to play the flute in third grade and the guitar in sixth. She was in a Boston cover band in fifth grade and performed at a Feed the Children benefit at thirteen. She and two friends did the National anthem as an a cappella trio. She was on the "You Can Be a Star" TV show. She played acoustic guitar in bars for Sunday brunch and Saturday nights. At 19 she started to do radio jingles as a singer and songwriter. Her credits include Toyota, Wrangler jeans and Pontiac. Kimberley studied music in college and took up Radio/TV announcing to overcome her shyness. As a Freshman in college she won a solo part in "A Midsummer Nights Dream" over 75 other girls. Kimberley moved to Nashville where she won a spot on the Nashville New Faces World tour. While working with the Tom Hambridge band, Kimberley was noticed by Tom Scholz of the band Boston. A couple of months later she was on stage with Boston at the Fiesta Bowl in front of 80,000 people and millions of TV viewers. Tom Scholz liked her songwriting so much that he included her song "With You" on the last Boston CD, Corporate America. Dahme has released several CD's to date and they are available at SPOTIFY. IT IS OVER
Meri and Kody took to social media today to announce the end of their relationship. We know their legal marriage ended years ago. We also know that after the cat fishing Meri kept holding on hoping for a reconciliation. When the show started, it looked like these two really loved each other. This public announcement and break up will officially kick off the healing process for Meri. It has been obvious to anyone watching that Kody was pretty much done with this relationship years ago, although at times he was giving her false hope. Back Stage Pass News thinks it is way past due that he has finally let her go so she can find love in a future full of happiness. See announce here.
Meri says this on her facebook page:
Today I reclaim my power. Last month's article by the 'reputable' People Magazine quoting me as saying that I had 'confirmed' that Kody and I had separated was a complete lie. The information, content, and timing was inaccurate and was based on a highly edited version of events that had been filmed months prior. In the month's since the taping of those interviews, Kody and I have had many open and honest discussions that have led to our announcement today. There is so much more to be told about this story, and I assure you, my truth will be told. But for now, know that there is peace in my heart, and I hold no animosity toward Kody. I am not, and pray that I never will be, in a place where I will enjoy making, or seeing you make, rude and demeaning comments about him. You likely will have a range of emotions and opinions at this news and want to offer comments. In doing so, please be considerate of the fact that we are real people, with real lives, and real emotions. Please try to refrain from congratulating me at the break up of my marriage. I value the relationship I had, and look forward to stepping into 2023 and my future with grace, kindness and power. Step into kindness with me. Put positive energy out into the world. Worthy Up! |
