Drummer, Model and acting in Commercials
Tristan tells all about his start in the entertainment business. He was in a band playing drums out of High School but they didn't make any money so he let that fade away. He got into acting on commercials and was a model. He landed his first role in Sydney at his very first audition. He went to Europe and started working there.
A producer in Europe offered him a couch to sleep on in the U K and he got a role without auditioning in the UK. Tristan seemed to get jobs without even trying. He learned in Europe that he had apply himself.
So Melbourne, Australia to Sydney to Europe. Tristan also worked as a DJ and a Barman. This was happening in the early 1970's. He gets the DJ job quite accidentally. During this time he was working his way toward full time acting. See below.
Tristan Rogers (born 3 June 1946) is an Australian-American actor. He is best known for playing Robert Scorpio on the ABC soap opera General Hospital and for voicing Jake in Walt Disney Pictures' The Rescuers Down Under. He is currently starring as Robert Scorpio on General Hospital.
Rogers was born in Melbourne. His early acting roles were on Australian television and he completed short stints in soap operas Bellbird, Number 96 (in 1974) and The Box (in 1975). He was a regular in the police drama series The Link Men (1970) which lasted for 13 episodes, and had guest roles in programs including Barrier Reef, Division 4 and the 1976 miniseries Power Without Glory. He also appeared in a few British films in the early 1970s, notably Four Dimensions of Greta (1972), The Flesh and Blood Show (1972) and Sex Farm (1973).
His visa expires and he gets kicked out of the UK. He suggested to Maurice they skip ahead 10 years into his audition of General Hospital. He was originally hired to do an EAST AFRICAN accent. He was hired to beat up the HERO LUKE. Gloria Monty asked him to stay on. His role was originally supposed to be only 2 days. For two weeks he pokes around the set looking suspicious. They had to write an actual part for him. This is so interesting about how he was named and he called himself CK8. He was initially signed for a 3 year contract. He and Tony were always suspicious of each other in real life. It wasn't until the big fight with the Cassadines on set that they really trusted each others and became friends.
