Maurice Benard has been portraying the gangster with a soft heart, Sonny Corinthos for almost 30 years now.  During that time he showed up for work whether he felt like it or not. Sometimes, the days were very dark for the actor as he has battled BI-POLAR his entire life.  

Maurice is not shy about talking about his low points. He has now made it a life mission to talk to others who have shared and fought these same kind of demons. His biggest wish is to make people see mental issues what they are, medical conditions that can be dealt with and improved.  

The vehicle Maurice uses to get his message out is via his show "STATE OF MIND," some call a PODCAST.....Here at Back Stage Pass News, we don't call his show a podcast, we call it a VODCAST.  The show is not audio only. It is audio and video.  WE here at Back Stage Pass News call them VODCASTS.  STATE OF MIND IS A VODCAST and a very good one. 

Maurice has had on many guests, some that continue to conquer mental issues and some that have just started. His show cuts through the stigma many who have suffered through mental issues have had to deal with. That stigma only adding to the already tough issue of dealing with mental health issues.

This weeks STATE OF MIND is Part ll and features guests married couple Todd Fisher and Catherine Hickland.  Todd Fisher is son of the late Debbie Reynolds and brother of the late Carrie Fisher. They talk about their loss, having to deal with their high profile deaths. In addition, these deaths took place very close together which is more than a lot of people could ever handle.

Fans of One Life To Live may remember Catherine Hickland from the soaper.  In addition, Catherine Hickland was once married to Michael E. Knight (currently on GH and formerly on All My Children as Tad the CAD) and David Hasselhoff.
