Has Brooke crossed a line?

As a mother of a grown up daughter, I cannot imagine anything that occurred on the soap this week happening in real life but then again, as they say, it is a soap. So let's review.  First Brooke enters the home of Thomas because the door pushed open after she knocked a few times.  

She called out his name once and then noticed her daughters work ID, pocketbook and her daughters wedding and engagement rings on Thomas's table.  She knew right where to go and headed up there without a second thought. 

Brooke confronts Hope and Thomas

Thomas stays pretty much silent throughout Brooke's whole rant. She scolds both Thomas and Hope as if they are little children. These two are grown adults with children of their own. They are certainly capable of making their own decisions. I can't even imagine telling my daughter she is to wipe away a whole day and pretend it never happened.  That honestly would never happen in any world. She then tells Hope, 'THIS AFFAIR IS OVER." 

Hope is visibly angry

Hope is very angry with her mother in the moment and she tells her mother that if anyone should be able to understand what she is going through and what she is feeling, it's HOPE. Brook looks shocked that her daughter compared herself to her mother. As a viewer, you have to ask yourself why it would be so hard to understand your daughter falling in love with the son when you fell in love with the father. Why can't this be HOPES DESTINY?  That is the real question, why can't THOMAS BE HOPES DESTINY?
